Marine Science Study Program

The Marine Science Study Program at the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University, was established through several stages of development. The initial idea and founding of this program were pioneered by Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Bakta, Sp.PD (KHOM), who also served as Rector of Udayana University from 2009 to 2013. This idea was further solidified with the establishment of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries at Udayana University, located on the Bukit Jimbaran Campus.

The proposal to establish the Marine Science Study Program received significant support from various parties, including Yamaguchi University and Chiba University in Japan. After a series of preparations and evaluations, the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti) of the Ministry of National Education issued a permit to operate the Marine Science (Bachelor’s) Study Program at Udayana University in Denpasar through the Minister of Education and Culture’s Decree No. 47/E/O/2012, dated February 3, 2012.
