The vast potential of Indonesia's aquatic resources, encompassing freshwater and coastal-marine ecosystems, necessitates human resources capable of managing these resources and keeping pace with modern advancements. High-quality human resources with competencies in fisheries and marine sciences are essential to improve the operational performance of various institutions involved in aquatic resource management, including the individuals within them. This is especially critical in addressing critiques regarding the performance of Indonesia’s human resources in this sector.To expedite the development of fisheries and marine science graduates, particularly in the central region of Indonesia, the establishment of the "Aquatic Resources Management Study Program" is both strategic and essential. It provides a synergistic solution to maximize the sustainable use of Indonesia's vast aquatic resources. Establishing this program at Udayana University will contribute to enhancing the nation's human resource quality and competitiveness, balancing economic development with the growth of the fisheries sector.
