Committed to increasing the number of MBKM, FKP Udayana held a workshop with the theme of strengthening the implementation of MBKM at the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University.

The rapid development of science and technology today has brought about rapid changes in many aspects of life. Jobs and the way we work are changing, many jobs are disappearing, while new types of jobs are emerging. Economic, social and cultural changes are also happening at a rapid pace. In these highly dynamic times, universities must respond quickly and appropriately. Learning transformation is needed to be able to equip and prepare higher education graduates to become an excellent generation. A generation that is responsive and ready to face the challenges of its era, without being uprooted from the cultural roots of its nation.

In response to this, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries (FKP) held a KPI 2 improvement workshop at Hotel Neo, Legian, Bali as a form of FKP's commitment to continue to increase the number of students who spend 20 credits off campus. At the workshop, an MoU was also signed between FKP and Benoa Marine and Fisheries Resources Monitoring (PSDKP) (Head of PSDKP, Salman Mokoginta, S.St. Pi, M.Si) in terms of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, one of which is in terms of Education, especially MBKM Industrial Internships and Teaching Practitioners.

In his remarks, the Dean of FKP Unud, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Nuarsa, M.Si said that currently creativity and innovation are important keywords to ensure Indonesia's sustainable development. Students who are currently studying at Higher Education, must be prepared to become true learners who are skilled, flexible and resilient (agile learner). "The Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy launched by the Minister of Education and Culture is a framework for preparing students to become tough scholars, relevant to the needs of the times, and ready to become leaders with a high national spirit," concluded the Dean of FKP.

The second invited speaker was Dr. Eng. Abu Bakar Sambah, S.Pi, M.T from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) Universitas Brawijaya with material about strengthening the implementation of MBKM between students and study program management units as organizers of higher education at universities. With the implementation of this event, all leaders, lecturers, and education personnel in the FKP environment at Udayana University hope that the number of FKP students who spend 20 credits outside the campus will increase, thus indirectly supporting the achievement of the Main Performance Indicator (IKU) 2. Another hope is that learning can occur anywhere, the universe of learning is unlimited, not only in classrooms, libraries and laboratories, but also in villages, industries, workplaces, service places, research centers, and in the community. Thus, through close interaction between universities and the world of work, with the real world, universities will be present as a spring for the progress and development of the nation, directly coloring the culture and civilization of the nation.
