Sharing Together with Himmaspera Through Kitchen and Social Service Activities

In line with the agenda of the Water Resources Management Student Association, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University, the Himmaspera Kitchen and Himmaspera Social Service activities were held. These activities aim to foster a sense of compassion for others and serve as an application of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly community service. The Himmaspera Kitchen was held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Wana Segara Kertih, Kedonganan, while the Himmaspera Social Service took place on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Salam Orphanage, Tabanan.

The Himmaspera Kitchen activity involved cooking, with meals prepared for distribution to the community. Attended by 15 participants, the menu included shredded mackerel and balado eggplant. A total of 25 meal packages were prepared and distributed in Kedonganan. Members and interns of Himmaspera distributed the meals, which were warmly received by the coastal community of Kedonganan. One of the interns, Putri Ramadhani, handed a meal package to a resting fisherman, who happily accepted it, saying, 'Thank you very much; I hope this activity continues in the future.' The event concluded with a group photo, with hopes of strengthening bonds between students and the coastal community.

The Himmaspera Social Service was attended by the Coordinator of the Water Resources Management Program, Himmaspera advisors, lecturers, and Himmaspera interns. The event began with a prayer, followed by speeches from the Program Coordinator, the orphanage manager, and the symbolic handover of social donations. The orphanage manager and the children welcomed the activity with enthusiasm. In her remarks, the manager expressed her gratitude for the students' eagerness to share with the community. 'Salam Orphanage was founded in 1971 and currently cares for 22 children. A few months ago, part of the building was damaged in a fire. I am very grateful for the students and lecturers who have come to spend time with us. Thank you to the lecturers and students for your generosity. I hope you all study well and become successful individuals,' she said.

The event continued with a shared meal with the children, followed by a coloring contest and games. The coloring contest was lively, with each participant enthusiastically filling their drawings with color, laughter, and joy filling the room as the children created wonderful works of art. Their excitement peaked when they scored high or won the games, which not only provided fun but also helped sharpen their intelligence, teamwork, and created memorable experiences.
