Visit by Mr. Vincent Vermeylen from Ghent University (Belgium) Promotes Master's, Ph.D. Aquaculture Programs, and Erasmus Mundus Scholarships at the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University.

On Friday, November 8, 2024, the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries (FKP) at Udayana University (Unud) welcomed Mr. Vincent Vermeylen, a representative from Ghent University in Belgium. The purpose of this visit was to introduce Master's and Ph.D. programs in Aquaculture, as well as prestigious Erasmus Mundus scholarship opportunities. The event took place in the Batur Hall, 4th floor of the Samudera Building at FKP Unud, moderated by Made Dendy Pratama, S.Pd., M.Si., a faculty member in the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries.

The information session was attended by final-year students from the undergraduate programs in Water Resources Management and Marine Science, along with FKP alumni interested in pursuing higher studies. Mr. Vincent Vermeylen presented comprehensive information about the Aquaculture programs offered at Ghent University, including the curriculum, research opportunities, and career prospects. He also discussed the Erasmus Mundus scholarship options available to FKP students interested in studying in Europe, highlighting various funding schemes.

The session was highly interactive, with students and alumni eagerly participating in the Q&A segment, asking about admission requirements, research opportunities, and the experience of studying in Europe.

Following the information session, Mr. Vermeylen toured several research facilities at the FKP Unud Laboratory. He observed ongoing faculty and student research projects, including studies in aquaculture and water resource management. This visit is anticipated to open opportunities for future research collaborations between Ghent University and FKP Unud. Additionally, it is hoped that the session will inspire FKP Unud students to pursue further studies and to compete internationally through scholarship programs like Erasmus Mundus.
