Master Program in Marine Science

Program Vision

“To develop human resources who are excellent, independent, cultured, and globally competitive in the development of Marine Science.”



Program Objectives


The Master Program in Marine Science aims to:

  • * Produce graduates with comprehensive analytical skills in the field of marine science.

  • * Produce graduates who are able to develop innovation in contemporary marine science and technology.

  • * Produce graduates with the ability to initiate and advance innovation in marine science and technology.

  • * Deliver education that harmonizes academic ethics with local and international cultural values.

  • * Produce graduates who have a strong reputation and contribution at local, national, and international levels.



Graduate Profile & Competencies


Graduates of the Master Program in Marine Science are prepared as scientists, academics, and professionals in the marine field with the following competencies:


  • * Mastering principles of marine ecology and the latest technologies in environmental mapping and data management.

  • * Being able to plan, implement, and analyze policies for sustainable marine ecotourism.

  • * Being able to solve marine environmental problems based on research, including monitoring and mitigating the impacts of tourism on marine ecosystems through inter- or multidisciplinary approaches.

  • * Being able to communicate research findings and scientific ideas in marine science and conservation to support the development of marine ecotourism.


This program offers a specialization in marine modeling through Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for future-oriented marine solutions.

    Based at the Jimbaran Campus with direct access to key marine and coastal ecosystems such as the Lombok Strait, Bali Strait, and coral reef ecosystems along the Northern Coast of Bali.

  • * Located in Bali, a World Tourism Hub
    Supporting the development of world-class marine ecotourism through collaboration among academia, government, local communities, and the tourism industry.

  • * Technology-Based Excellent Curriculum
    The curriculum is designed to strengthen analytical and marine modeling capabilities, supported by remote sensing, GIS, and marine data analysis.

  • * Strong National and International Networks
    The program is supported by research networks and collaborations with various national institutions and leading overseas universities.

Normal study period: 4 semesters

  • * Degradation of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems

  • * Climate, Ocean, and Marine Environment


Semester III
