Fostering Social Care and the Spirit of Sharing: A Tangible Expression of Students’ Togetherness and Hope for Others
As part of its agenda, the Student Association of Fisheries Resource Management, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University, once again held a Social Service activity as a form of social care towards the community. This event took place on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Salam Orphanage, Tabanan Regency, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM WITA.
The series of activities began with an opening and a joint prayer to seek blessings for the smooth running of the event. The event continued with remarks from Mrs. Gusti, the manager of Salam Orphanage. In her speech, she expressed gratitude and appreciation to Himmaspera for their continued care in organizing social service activities at the orphanage. She stated, “We are very happy and thankful that Himmaspera has again held a social service event here. We do not have regular donors, so the assistance from Himmaspera is very helpful for us and the children at the orphanage.” She also emphasized the importance of discipline as a value that must be instilled early in the lives of the children.
Following this, a speech was delivered by the Himmaspera advisor, who officially opened the social service event.
After the speeches, the event proceeded with the symbolic handover of social assistance, presented directly by the Himmaspera advisor and the Chairperson to the manager of Salam Orphanage. This symbolic handover marked a concrete expression of Himmaspera’s care and commitment to supporting the needs of the orphanage children.
The activity continued with a sharing session by the Himmaspera advisor. During this opportunity, he conveyed a touching and meaningful message: “Never feel that you are on the wrong path just because life doesn’t go as you expect. We cannot always choose our life path, but we can choose to remain grateful and sincerely live through it. Believe that everything you experience has meaning and will lead you to a better place.” This message was warmly received by the children present.
Next, the atmosphere grew lively with games involving all the children at the orphanage. Three types of games were held: inserting balls into a container using rubber bands, a sarong relay race, and a paper ball relay race. The children showed great enthusiasm and joy in participating, creating an atmosphere full of cheerfulness and togetherness.
The event concluded with group photos, followed by photos with all the children and Himmaspera officials. This moment became a warm closing to a meaningful and caring event. Through this activity, Himmaspera hopes to continue strengthening ties with the community, while fostering social spirit and empathy among students. This event stands as a real contribution of students in spreading kindness and hope to others.
