Neptune's 2025: Student Leadership Development for Preparing High-Quality and Integrity-Filled Future Marine Leaders
Neptune's 2025, with the theme "INTELLECTUALITY FOR THE ETERNAL OCEAN," is an event organized for all new students of the Marine Science program in 2025 who are pursuing studies in Marine Science at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University. This event is also part of the work program of the Marine Science Student Association at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University. Neptune's 2025 was attended by 78 participants, consisting of new students from the Marine Science Program of the 2025 batch.
The event series spanned three weeks, starting from August 29, 2025, to September 13, 2025, including an opening ceremony at the Samudra Building, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, attended by the Chair of the Student Representative Council of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University, representatives from the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University, the Chair of the Water Resources Management Student Association at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University, and the Chair of the Baruna Scientific Diving Club, a Semi-Autonomous Body of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University.
In her speech, which also marked the official opening of the event, Galuh Maheswari Nabilah Ardiningrum, Chair of the Marine Science Student Association of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University, said, "In this event, themed ‘Intellectuality for the Eternal Ocean,’ participants are introduced as students, family members, and future intellectuals who are responsible for the nation and the environment. This event aims to develop students who are mentally resilient, united in solidarity, aware of surrounding issues, and committed to the sustainability of Indonesia's seas. The speakers emphasized the importance of critical thinking, offering solutions, preparing to become future leaders, and protecting Indonesia’s seas as a source of life and the nation’s future."
Subsequently, on August 30, 2025, a "Pos Kating" activity was held around the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science to help new students adapt to the campus environment, with senior students from the Marine Science Program providing guidance. From August 6 to August 7, 2025, a collaborative activity with SCMTK took place. On September 12, 2025, a logo trial was held at the Baruna Building, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Udayana University, and on September 13, 2025, the event concluded with a joint prayer at Puja Mandala, Benoa, and a closing ceremony, marking the end of the entire event series.
The hope for the future of this event is for the students to become resilient individuals, united in solidarity, and sensitive to the issues around them, while also raising awareness about the importance of protecting the sustainability of Indonesia’s seas.
