Opening Remarks of Aquatic Students: Shaping Leadership and Building an Excellent Future

As part of its work program, the Aquatic Resources Management Student Association (Himmaspera) once again held the Sambutan Keluarga Perairan (Samskara) Himmaspera with the theme, “Cultivating Visionary and Integrity-Driven Leadership among Aquatic Students to Forge an Excellent Generation.” Samskara Himmaspera 2025 was conducted over two days, 12–13 September 2025, at Aula Batur 4.5, Samudra Building, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries.

On the first day, the event was attended by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Nuarsa, M.Si.; the Vice Dean III, Prof. I Wayan Gede Astawa Karang, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.; the Himmaspera advisor, Ayu Putu Wiweka Krisna Dewi, S.ST.Pi., M.P.; invited guests; and 69 participants. The program also featured several speakers, including academics, current students, and alumni of the Aquatic Resources Management study program.

Day one began with the MC, followed by a report from the organizing committee chair, Christofel Sumanda Tumangger; remarks from Uni Putri as Himmaspera Chair; remarks from Ayu Putu Wiweka Krisna Dewi, S.ST.Pi., M.P.; and finally opening remarks and the official inauguration by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Nuarsa, M.Si. In his address, he stated, “I hope the Samskara Himmaspera activities run smoothly and deliver optimal benefits—not only in the academic context but also in leadership development for first-year Aquatic Resources Management students. With that, I hereby declare Samskara Himmaspera officially open.”

The program continued with a session on career prospects in Aquatic Resources Management delivered by Gagah Gumelar Wicaksono, S.Pi. (Ecoway), presenting Ecoway Tourism; Marlita Fitri Yustiyana, S.Pi., representing the Capture Fisheries Program (WWF), who presented “Career Prospects through the Role of Youth in Safeguarding Marine Resources”; and Ida Bagus Agung Parahita, S.Si., representing Waterbom industry, who discussed “A Real-World Overview of Water Quality Standards, Conversion, and Waste Management in Water-Based Industries.”

Next was a leadership session by Ricardo Constantio Elim, S.IP., titled “Knowledge Only Stays on Paper; Goodness Only Stays as Intention.” The final material session featured outstanding students from the Aquatic Resources Management program—Komang Putri Marta, Gracella Marissa Sitorus, and Zaidan Muhammad Alfawwaz—who shared tips on becoming high-achieving students.


The day’s agenda continued with artistic performances by the first five groups of Samskara 2025 participants. Day one concluded with participants sharing impressions and messages, such as, “It was cool and creative, especially the performing arts segment earlier.” The first day of Samskara ended with a closing prayer led by the MC.
