ICMFS 2025 Day Two Highlights: Advancing Scientific Collaboration for Sustainable Marine and Fisheries Management

Bukit Jimbaran, 25 November 2025 — The second day of The 1st International Conference on Marine and Fisheries Science (ICMFS) continued with strong enthusiasm at the 4th Floor of the Samudera Building, Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Udayana University. Following the successful opening day, the second day focused on deeper scientific discussions, international collaboration, and innovative research presentations addressing key issues in marine and fisheries science.

The agenda began at 08.00 WITA with participant registration and the formal opening of Day Two. The morning session featured a Keynote Speech delivered by Dr.Sc. Widiastuti, S.Kel., M.Si. from Udayana University, who presented insights on modern scientific approaches for enhancing coastal management and sustainability. A dynamic discussion with attendees followed, highlighting the relevance of emerging research in addressing coastal challenges.


The conference proceeded with Invited Speech Session IV, featuring distinguished international speakers. Prof. Hyun Woo Kim from Pukyong National University, South Korea, and Dr. Mike Van Keulen from Murdoch University, Australia, shared their expertise on coastal ecosystem dynamics, biodiversity conservation, and the implications of climate change on marine environments. A panel discussion provided an engaging platform for exchanging ideas and strategies across institutions and disciplines.


After a short coffee break, the event transitioned into Parallel Session Part II, which covered a wide range of technical topics, including habitat management, coastal processes, blue carbon potential, aquaculture and fisheries biology, biotechnology of fishery products, and water quality assessment and bioremediation. Researchers presented their findings across four parallel rooms, emphasizing scientific innovation and applied research for real-world marine issues.


The afternoon continued with Parallel Session Part III, focusing on Spatial Mapping and Monitoring Technology. Presentations highlighted advancements in remote sensing, spatial analysis, and monitoring tools that support precision-based marine resource management and environmental assessment.


Day Two of ICMFS 2025 concluded with renewed inspiration and strengthened academic synergy. Participants expressed optimism that the conference would serve as a catalyst for long-term scientific collaboration, fostering innovation and supporting sustainable coastal and marine resource development for improved community welfare.
