LKMM-TD 2025: GROW TOGETHER, STEP FORWARD TO LEAD
The Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University, in 2025 once again held the Basic Level Student Management Skills Training (LKMM-TD) under the theme "Leading Beyond Limits: Encouraging Students to Exceed Boundaries Toward Excellent Leadership." This annual program is organized by the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University. It aims to equip new or early-level students with fundamental skills to develop self-management capabilities.
This year's LKMM-TD was held at Bali Outbound and Farmstay – Bedugul, Tabanan Regency. The event was attended by faculty members and active students of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University.
The event began with an opening ceremony led by the Master of Ceremony (MC), followed by a report from the committee chairperson, Ni Ketut Cenik Ririn Pramiswari, and remarks from the Student Executive Board Chair, Ravarizi Rakhman. This was followed by a speech from Mr. I Ketut Matra, S.H., Head of Baturiti Village, and concluded with the official opening speech by Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Nuarsa, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Nuarsa, M.Si., emphasized that “This activity is not only organized by the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries but also part of a national program from the Ministry of Education. Therefore, do not consider this event merely a formality. This is a golden opportunity that only comes once during your college years. Make the best of it. Both participants and committees will learn. Participants learn to become future leaders, while committees learn to become true leaders by managing the program.”
The LKMM-TD officially commenced on Friday, May 16, and continued until Sunday, May 18, 2025. The spirit of togetherness and enthusiasm was evident early in the morning as participants and committee members gathered at the Agrokompleks Sudirman Campus parking lot for attendance, vehicle distribution, and a communal prayer before departing to the training location.
Upon arrival, participants immediately joined intensive, inspiring, and interactive sessions. The first day featured three main topics:
-
Student Creativity Program (PKM) by Mr. I Nyoman Giri Putra, S.Pd., M.Si., equipping participants with insights and strategies to compete at the national PKM level;
-
Leadership by Mr. I Gede Mantrayasa, S.T., raising awareness of the importance of leadership amidst organizational dynamics;
-
Organization by Muhammad Novriansyah Kusumapratama, S.Pi., broadening participants’ understanding of roles, functions, and benefits of active organizational involvement.
The day continued with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), where participants were divided into groups to actively discuss predetermined motions. This FGD was a platform to practice critical thinking, expressing opinions, and teamwork.
On the second day, Saturday, May 17, LKMM-TD activities began with committee preparations and waking participants for morning hygiene and prayers. The cool morning atmosphere was used to boost spirit through interactive games requiring teamwork and strategy. These games served as a gateway to the main agenda, exploration activities, where each group had to complete challenges from the initial games to proceed. The exploration tested participants’ cohesion, leadership, and physical and mental endurance.
After successfully completing the exploration, participants took a break for lunch, strengthening bonds between participants and committees. In the afternoon, all gathered in the hall to watch artistic performances by each participant group. These performances, full of creativity, offered entertainment and expression after a full day outdoors.
The evening turned solemn and inspiring as participants gathered on the field for a bonfire ceremony. The fire symbolized spirit and unity. During this warm gathering, six student organizations (Ormawa) within the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries gave speeches, accompanied by inspiring messages from Prof. I Wayan Gede Astawa Karang, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Dean III. He stated, “This fire is not only a symbol but a reminder. That the spirit of leadership, courage to speak up, and unity in togetherness must never be extinguished. Every step you take today lays the foundation for the future. You are the hope of young leaders who will bring change—not only for the campus but for society, the nation, and the world.” The second day closed with deep meaning and unity before participants rested to prepare for the final day.
Sunday, May 18, 2025, marked the closing of the three-day LKMM-TD full of enthusiasm. The day started with hygiene and morning prayers, followed by group morning exercise to refresh bodies and raise energy. After breakfast in the hall, all participants were directed to a social service activity, cleaning the area around the training site. This activity was a tangible contribution by students to the environment and instilled social responsibility values.
After the service, participants packed their belongings and prepared to return to campus. Before departure, all participants and committees attended the LKMM-TD 2025 closing ceremony, officially opened by Vice Dean III, Prof. I Wayan Gede Astawa Karang, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. In his speech, he delivered a profound message: “This activity is not just about physical presence but about life learning. You have now experienced the meaning of togetherness, unity, discipline, and leadership. LKMM-TD is the beginning of your organizational journey. After this, I hope you actively participate in student organizations at both faculty and university levels as spaces to develop and sharpen your hard and soft skills.” He also wished all participants and committees a safe and healthy journey home, bringing valuable experiences as future provisions.
This closing marked the end of LKMM-TD 2025 but also a new beginning for FKP UNUD students to become more active, resilient, and ready to lead.
