Meeting between Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Udayana University and MDPI: Youth Initiative Collaboration for Coastal Resilience to Climate Change
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, a meeting was held between the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Udayana University, and the Indonesian Society and Fisheries Foundation (MDPI). The meeting took place in the Beratan Room, Samudera Building, Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Udayana University, attended by the Vice Dean 1, Program Study Coordinators, Chairpersons of the Information and Cooperation Management Unit (UPIKS), Research and Community Service Unit (UP2M), Learning Development and Quality Assurance Unit (UP3M), as well as students from student organizations within the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries.
In his opening remarks, the Vice Dean 1 (I Gede Hendrawan) expressed that FKP warmly welcomes the program offered by MDPI. The MDPI representatives then presented a collaboration program plan to be implemented over the next one year. The topic of this project is “Youth Initiatives in Coastal Community Resilience to Climate Change.” This project involves students as participants and lecturers as mentors.
It is hoped that through this meeting, MDPI will receive feedback in the form of suggestions and inputs regarding the project plan, and that the project will be able to improve the quality of graduates in the future. Through the discussion, it was concluded that the project could be integrated into the independent MBKM program under the research and industrial internship schemes. This meeting is also expected to foster ongoing collaboration for other programs aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the fields of Fisheries and Marine Science.
