Students are agents of change who play an important role in shaping character and enhancing the quality of human resources. Besides academic activities, involvement in non-academic activities such as student organizations is crucial for developing soft skills like teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
The Aquatic Resource Management Student Association (Himmaspera) in 2025 held its first Himmaspera Fun event on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Jimbaran Sport Center. The event started at 4:30 PM WITA and ended at 7:00 PM WITA. The matches were participated in by male and female teams consisting of Aquatic Resource Management students from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 batches. Each team consisted of 5 players.
What made this event unique was the requirement for all players to wear sarongs during the game. This added excitement and provided entertainment for the spectators. Despite wearing sarongs, the players were still able to show their best performance on the futsal court.
One of the female players, Rahel Elisabet Sinaga, expressed, “The match we played was very exciting and challenging; our movements were more restricted because we wore sarongs. Sometimes, our sarongs slipped down because they weren’t tied tightly. But that’s actually the funniest and most entertaining part of the game.”
The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and a group photo session, which was enthusiastically welcomed by all participants.
Himmaspera Fun was not only an entertainment event but also had a significant positive impact in building solidarity and a spirit of togetherness among Aquatic Resource Management students. Through active participation in this event, students can develop social skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork, which are essential in both academic and professional life. The success of this event shows that creative and inclusive approaches in student activities can increase engagement and a sense of belonging to the study program. Therefore, it is recommended that similar events become an annual agenda to strengthen bonds between cohorts and foster a positive culture within the academic environment.
