Strengthening a More Solid Organization, HIMASILA Holds 2024 Student Assembly

The Student Association of Marine Science (HIMASILA) at Udayana University’s Faculty of Marine and Fisheries recently held its 2024 Student Assembly (MUSMA) at the UNUD FKP Campus. The MUSMA HIMASILA is an important annual meeting aimed at revising and discussing the organization’s Statutes and Bylaws (AD/ART), election procedures for the HIMASILA president and vice president, work program planning, roles and responsibilities of the leadership, and membership guidelines. The event was attended by all HIMASILA members and was officially opened by HIMASILA President, Kadek Janita Devi Adnyana Putri.

The 2024 MUSMA HIMASILA was themed "One Voice, One Goal to Build a Solid HIMASILA through Deliberation." It began with a Pre-Assembly meeting on Friday, November 8, 2024, where technical aspects of the MUSMA event were discussed. On the main day, November 9, 2024, the assembly started with a Plenary Session divided into four segments, followed by HIMASILA’s Accountability Report (LPJ) and a review of programs conducted during the 2023/2024 period. Members also engaged in discussions to evaluate and provide feedback for the betterment and continuity of the organization.

In subsequent sessions, HIMASILA members actively participated in planning and strategizing for the coming term, which included deliberating the election procedures for the new president, vice president, and the Advisory Council of HIMASILA. The meeting proceeded smoothly with high enthusiasm from each attending member, demonstrating a spirit of unity as they shared aspirations and ideas for HIMASILA’s future growth. Decisions reached in this assembly are expected to guide HIMASILA’s work programs to be more focused and aligned with members' needs.

In her opening remarks, HIMASILA President Kadek Janita Devi Adnyana Putri highlighted the importance of this assembly as a crucial opportunity for members to develop integrated steps for a stronger HIMASILA. "This MUSMA is our chance to collectively set the direction for HIMASILA’s future. Let’s strengthen our unity and integrity for the welfare and progress of us all," Janita stated with enthusiasm.

With the conclusion of the 2024 MUSMA, HIMASILA aspires to build an increasingly solid, competitive organization capable of making a tangible contribution to Marine Science students. The outcomes of this assembly will serve as HIMASILA’s roadmap in facing challenges and developing beneficial programs for the upcoming period.
