Strengthening Unity and Solidarity Among Marine Science Students, HIMASILA Celebrates the 13th Anniversary of Marine Science (HUT IK – 13)

The 13th Anniversary of Marine Science (HUT IK – 13), themed “Fluctus Amiciteae”, is one of the programs organized by the Marine Science Student Association (HIMASILA), Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University. The celebration took place throughout February and March to commemorate the founding of the Marine Science Study Program.

The event consisted of three main activities. The first was a celebration held with lecturers and administrative staff on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Batur Hall, 4th Floor, Samudra Building, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University. This event featured a retrospective of the Marine Science Study Program presented by the Head of the Program, Dr. Dwi Budi Wiyanto, S.Kel., MP., and included a ceremonial tumpeng cutting.

The second event was the Fun Beach Games, held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Muaya Beach, Jimbaran, Bali. It was participated in by students from all cohorts of the Marine Science program.

The third and final event was the Grand Night Celebration of HUT IK – 13, which took place at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Udayana University, on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The event was open to all students of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries and alumni, with a special performance by the guest star, Not So Koplo. During the opening speech of the Grand Night Celebration, the HIMASILA advisor, Abd. Rahman As-Syakur, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., shared his hopes for the future of the Marine Science students.

“Time flies, and Marine Science has now entered its teenage years. I am proud of all the Marine Science students, and I hope you will remain united,” he stated.

In addition to the guest star’s performance at the end of the night, the event also featured a traditional Joged Bumbung dance, class video presentations, and performances by students from each cohort.

The 13th Anniversary of Marine Science is expected to strengthen the bond and solidarity among Marine Science students, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and caring academic environment.
