Increase the Added Value of Fishery Products with the Budeng Village Community

Creating Fishery-Based Business Opportunities

As an effort to encourage the increase of added value in fishery products, the Bina Desa Budeng Team carried out socialization and demonstration of tilapia processing together with PKK cadres and Poklahsar Mina Sari Amertha, under the guidance of Field Supervisor (DPL) Dr. Ni Made Ernawati, S.Kel., M.Si.

"Tilapia has a very large opportunity to be developed into various processed products. The hope is that the community will not only see fish as a fresh product, but also as a business opportunity through processing innovation and good packaging."

Series of Educational Activities

This activity is designed to provide theoretical understanding as well as direct practice to open up new business development opportunities in the community.

  1. Raw Material Potential

    Presentation of material on the advantages of tilapia as a raw material for the processing industry; it has thick, clean white meat, a neutral taste, and an affordable price with a stable supply.

  2. Meatball & Nugget Demonstration

    Participants were invited to be directly involved in every stage of production, starting from ingredient preparation, dough mixing, product shaping, to the hygienic cooking process.

  3. Vacuum Packaging Technique

    Education on the procedure for using a vacuum sealer machine. This technique is crucial so that the product has a longer shelf life, maintained quality, and appears ready to be marketed.

  4. Sustainable Welfare

    This knowledge and skill are expected to be applied sustainably by the cadres to support local businesses and improve the welfare of Budeng Village residents.
