UNUD FKP STUDENTS PARTICIPATE INKGU SUMMER COURSE 2026Implementation of International Cooperation to Support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The Faculty of Marine and Fisheries (FKP) of Udayana University once again showed its existence on the global stage. Four FKP students participated in the KGU Summer Course 2026 event titled "Life Below Water and Life on Land: The 6th On-line Workshop on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" organized by Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU), Japan.
"This participation reflects the faculty's commitment to supporting the internationalization of higher education through the implementation of cooperation with Kwansei Gakuin University that has been established since 2014. Students not only gain academic experience in international forums, but also expand their collaboration networks."
Theme Focus and FKP DelegationThis activity focuses on SDG 14 (Life Below Water) and SDG 15 (Life on Land), involving participants from three countries (Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia) and nine international universities.

FKP Udayana University was represented by Theofilus Natanael Putra Hanjaya (Aquaculture Study Program), Raihan Fadilah (Aquatic Resource Management Study Program), Ida Ayu Ngurah Deepika (Aquatic Resource Management Study Program), and Freyanata (Marine Science Study Program).
- Presentation Material
On the last day of the workshop, the FKP team presented material entitled "Microplastic Contamination in Coastal Ecosystems: Distribution in Water, Sediment, Bivalves, and Its Ecological Implications for Seagrass Habitats".
- Ecological Implications
The presentation raised the crucial issue of microplastic pollution in coastal ecosystems and its implications for seagrass habitats, which is very much in line with efforts to achieve SDG 14.
- Recognition & Global Insights
This participation serves as a form of recognition of students' academic competence, as well as providing an opportunity to improve cross-cultural communication and contribution capacity in the fields of marine, fisheries, and environment.
