Visit of Faculty Members and Students from Roger Williams University, USA to FKP Unud to Explore Collaboration in Fisheries and Aquaculture

Denpasar – The Faculty of Marine and Fisheries (FKP) of Udayana University welcomed a visit from faculty members and students of Roger Williams University, USA, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Samudera Building, FKP Unud. The purpose of this visit was to explore potential academic and research collaborations, with a particular focus on the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.

The event began with a warm welcome and a presentation on the profile, programs, and achievements of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries at Udayana University. The presentation was delivered by Made Dendy Pratama, M.Si., a lecturer from the Aquaculture Study Program at FKP Unud. In his presentation, he provided a comprehensive overview of the faculty’s facilities, resources, and potentials, especially in supporting the development of science and technology in the field of marine and fisheries.

Following the presentation, an interactive discussion session took place. During this session, Dr. Hisham A. Abdelrahman, a faculty member from Roger Williams University, along with the visiting students, had the opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions, and delve deeper into potential avenues for collaboration. The discussion focused on possibilities for joint research, student and faculty exchange programs, and the development of collaborative academic initiatives related to current issues in fisheries and aquaculture.

To conclude the visit, the guests from Roger Williams University were invited to tour various laboratory facilities at FKP Unud. This tour aimed to showcase the faculty’s research capabilities and provide a closer look at ongoing practical activities involving students.

This visit is expected to serve as a positive first step toward establishing a productive and sustainable partnership between the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries of Udayana University and Roger Williams University, USA, in advancing academic and research efforts in the field of marine and fisheries sciences.
